A whole school approach to financial education can help support key curriculum areas such as numeracy and literacy through the provision of real and relevant contexts for learning. It is an important part of the Key Stage 1 and 2 PSHE curriculum, provides substantial topics for debate and discussion through SMSC and the delivery of financial education also helps develop a broad and balanced curriculum which prepares all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

“Children completely understood the lesson plans and really enjoyed the activities.”

To help you develop your school’s approach to financial education we are able to offer 250 primary schools a free CPD teacher training session of up to 3 hours, delivered by one of our expert Education Consultants.

The CPD session will:

  • Introduce the LifeSavers Five Big Questions teaching resources and suggest ways to integrate financial education into a whole school curriculum
  • Showcase examples of good practice from schools that have already implemented the programme
  • Explore opportunities to engage with parents, carers and the wider community
  • Consider some of the practical aspects of running a savings club and how this can be successfully embedded into the school timetable and linked to classroom learning
  • Signpost to further support and guidance available
